Optimizing bone mass during skeletal growth is essential for preventing osteopenia and osteoporosis. Bone health is influenced as early as maternal nutrition and overall health, which significantly affect fetal skeletal mass and bone density. Both genetic factors and environmental exposures during intrauterine life and early postnatal development contribute to bone health.
